Woolie in Spring
Woolie the Sheep Poem Eight
Woolie wakes and smiles, excited about the day,
Because it is warm, outside she will play.
Spring is now here, flowers are fast growing,
Grass is now green, yes spring is showing.
Down at the table, breakfast was already there,
She sat down carefully, on her favourite chair.
Eating up the toast, with some lovely spread,
Soon was full up, yup definitely well fed!
A hug from Daddy, before then going out,
A reminder for Woolie, she must not shout.
Young animals on farm, would be fast asleep,
Like the little lambs, the farm's baby sheep.
She is very good, and keeps noise low,
Through the yard quietly, she did then go.
By the duck pond, there was some chicks,
Fun they were having, jumping over some sticks.
Further she then went, saw a baby horse,
Yes she does know, a foal of course.
So many young animals, on the big farm,
With mothers to keep, them from any harm.
In the tree tops, a chirp chirp sound,
Hungry young birds make, when mummy is around.
The trio of piglets, are busy getting fed,
Mummy on her side, laid in her bed.
The farm's new babies, that there were now,
Including a new calf, from the jersey cow.
The little baby goat, not good on toes,
Tries to run along, and down it goes!
And last she saw, the little puppies there,
Who jumping all around, with out a care.
There was dear barker, sat by the gate,
He'd told her Daddy, for Woolie he'd wait.
What an exciting day, she quietly did say,
All the new animals, that are here today.
Around the farm again, gave him a tour,
See all the babies, that she had saw.
Back to the house, they did really steady,
For she did know, dinner was now ready.
Told to her dad, what a wonderful time,
She had just had, in weather so fine.
When bed time arrived, Woolie went to sleep,
A kiss from Daddy, a tired little sheep.
All animals are now, tucked up just right,
From this little farm, wish you all goodnight.
